Best practice to create a burst with production and development version of documents

I have 2 versions of a BO document, one from development and one from Production. I will run the production on a regular basis, but if the production is down, I have the dev version to burst.

My question is, what is the best way to do it, do I create one burst for prod document and different one for dev document? Or do I just create one single burst and add those 2 documents in there, just disable whatever is not needed?

Kindly advise.

Thank you.

Hello Marilenn,

I would like to recommend creating a second burst that has the Dev report.

Using actions you can automate the process to start the second burst if the initial burst fails.

EX:

Burst one fails. But if you add an action in the burst properties on the failure panel (Start Burst Action). You can create an action that will start the second burst that contains the dev document.

No need for input.

Possible Recommendation:

You might want to create a send email action to the first burst (on failure) so it will notify you when it fails.
