Summary


This article describes XDC data sources. Database queries, SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, and Excel can be used as XDC sources. The XDC can contain multiple sources of one or both source types.



Add a Source


  • Select the + icon to add a source
  • Select the pencil icon next to a source to rename the source within the XDC
  • Select the Trash icon to delete the item



Sources


Database Query

Cache data from a Database Query.
  • Columns Names: Un-check this option to omit column names
  • Optimize Load: Large data sets may cause XDC refresh failure due to memory issues. Select this option to batch load the cache to prevent memory issues.


Web Intelligence

Cache data from a Web Intelligence document.


WebI Source Selection

  • Tab: Select the report tab which contains the target data block
  • Block: Enter target block number. InfoBurst uses the first available data block by default.


WebI Options

  • # Header Rows: Enter number of header rows when data block contains multiple header rows
  • Header Row for Column Names: Enter number of row which contains column names (use only when block contains multiple header rows)
  • Keep Formatting: Select this option to retain WebI data formatting. Resulting data will be STRING format.

Excel

Cache data from an Excel document.


Excel Source Selection

  • Sheet: Select the worksheet which contains the target data block
  • Range: Enter the cell range which contains the target data (e.g. A1:G27)


Excel Options

  • # Header Rows: Enter number of header rows when data block contains multiple header rows
  • Header Row for Column Names: Enter number of row which contains column names (use only when block contains multiple header rows)



Parameters


Supply parameter values when the source contains parameters.
