In BusinessObjects versions BI 4.3 and earlier, the BusinessObjects web services used by InfoBurst are hosted in WebApplicationContainerServer (WACS) at port 6405. WACS is deprecated in BI 2025 and later. An existing BusinessObjects Platform that uses WACS can be updated to use the same web services hosted in Tomcat. It is possible to update an existing Platform to point from WACS to Tomcat.
Before updating a Platform to use Tomcat, you must first test to determine if BusinessObjects web services are accessible in Tomcat. Enter the following address in a browser tab replacing BO_SERVER with your Tomcat server name or IP address:
http://<BO_SERVER>:80/biprws
If web services are available in Tomcat, then the response should resemble the following:
If the test for web services access is successful, then proceed to the instructions below. If the test fails, then please open a ticket with InfoBurst support.
