User Types

Users can be created and managed manually in InfoBurst and dynamically via Active Directory Synchronization or Authentication Data Source. A user type describes how the user was created.

Create a User

  • Select New User
  • Name: Enter a user name
  • Password: Enter a password
  • Email: Enter an email address
  • NTUser: Enter <DOMAIN>\<USER>. Required only for Windows Authentication
  • Role: Select a user role
  • Select Save


User Roles

RoleAccess Rights
Administrator
  • Full System, Manage, and InfoBurst Portal access
  • Run a Schedule as schedule owner
  • Assign Schedule > Run-As
System Operator
  • Full Create/Edit/View access in Manage (supersedes View Only folder access)
  • Monitor access to view all scheduled and executing jobs
  • Run a Schedule as schedule owner
  • System > Discover access
  • Portal access
Project Manager
  • Full Create/Edit/View in Manage folders to which the user has access (supersedes View Only folder access)
  • Create and set access on sub-folders within folders to which the user has access
  • Monitor access to view all scheduled and executing jobs to which user has access
  • System > Discover access where reporting limited to Manage access
  • Portal access
Team Member (Default)
  • Create/Edit/View access in Manage only for objects owned by the user in folders to which the user has access
  • System > Discover access where reporting limited to Manage access
  • Portal access
Consumer
  • Portal access
  • Access to XDC data
  • Receive content via email
  • No user interface access
Recipient
  • Receive content via email
  • No user interface access


Workflows

Select to limit a non-Administrator user to use of one or more Workflows.

Platform Credentials

User must provide credentials to access a Platform.

  • Select the plus (+) button
  • Platform: Select a Platform
  • Authentication Type: Select Authentication Type (SAP BusinessObjects only)
  • User: Enter a user
  • Password: Enter a password
  • Select Save

Crystal Database Credentials

Add database credentials for Crystal Reports that require credentials.

  • Select the plus (+) button
  • Server: Enter database server name as defined in the Crystal Report
  • Database: Enter database name as defined in the Crystal Report
  • User: Enter database user
  • Password: Enter database password

Migrate User Items

Select a user then the Migrate button to transfer ownership of all items from the selected user to another user. Before transferring ownership, ensure none of the target objects are in use and the target user has sufficient access to object locations.
