Summary

This article describes the process to create a Platform. A Platform represents the connection between InfoBurst and various Business Intelligence reporting and destination platforms. Platforms is located under System.

SAP BusinessObjects

Add a Platform

  • Select New Platform
  • Type: Select BusinessObjects BI 4.x
  • Name: Enter a descriptive name
  • WACS-Tomcat: Select BI Platform RESTFUL Web Service hosting location
  • BI Platform RESTful Web Service: Enter the name or IP address of the BusinessObjects server hosting BI Platform Web Services (BIPRWS)
  • Port: Enter port if not default (WACS default = 6405 / Tomcat default = 8080)
  • SSL: Select if BusinessObjects web service connection requires SSL
  • Request Timeout: Timeout in minutes for long-running platform requests
  • Select Save
  • Add Platform Credentials (optional): Add BusinessObjects credentials for current InfoBurst user

Options

Available for BI 4.x platforms only.

  • Public URL: Optional URL to use when generating notification content links
  • Default Auth Type: Select default authentication type for the Platform. Will apply to any user adding Platform Credentials.
  • Auth PassThru: Enable this option to pass the InfoBurst username and password as the Platform credentials
  • Tomcat DSWS Server: Enter the name or IP address of BusinessObjects Tomcat server (Crystal Reports only)
    • Where SSL is enabled for Tomcat use https://<SERVER>
  • Tomcat Server Port: Enter Tomcat port if not default (default = 8080)
  • Sync Document Names: Keep document names synchronized with document names in BusinessObjects. Enabling this option disables ability to rename synced document objects. A re-catalog is required to capture updated document name.
  • Category Support: Enable BusinessObjects categories for Deliveries

Power BI

Access

Review Power BI Access for the prerequisite steps required in Azure AD and Power BI to allow InfoBurst access.


Add a Platform

  • Select New Platform
  • Type: Select Power BI
  • Name: Enter a descriptive name
  • Azure AD Authentication: Select the appropriate authentication type then refer to Power BI Access for specific Platform configuration steps for the selected type.
  • Select Save
  • Refresh Permissions: Azure AD changes are not always immediate. Select this option if Azure AD application details have recently changed.

Options

  • Connection Type: Select GCC, GCC High, or DoD when using Microsoft Government Cloud

Tableau Server

Add a Platform

  • Select New Platform
  • Type: Select Tableau Server
  • Name: Enter a descriptive name
  • Tableau Server URL: Enter server URL
  • Tableau Site Name: Enter a site name. Use the Site ID if the Tableau Site Name and Site ID are different.
  • Request Timeout: Timeout in minutes for long-running platform requests
  • Select Save
  • Add Platform Credentials: Add Tableau credentials for current InfoBurst user
  • Personal Access Token Authentication (optional): Enter Token Name and Token Secret to utilize Personal Access Token (PAT) at Platform level (applies to all users). Leave blank and add PAT to user Platform Credentials to utilize PAT at user level.

SharePoint

Access

Review SharePoint Access for the prerequisite steps required in Azure AD and SharePoint to allow InfoBurst access.


Add a Platform

  • Select New Platform
  • Type: Select SharePoint
  • Name: Enter a descriptive name
  • SharePoint Site URL: Enter site URL (example: https://acme.sharepoint.com/Accounting)
  • Authentication: Select the appropriate authentication type then refer to SharePoint Access for specific Platform configuration steps for the selected type.
  • Public URL: Optional URL to use when generating email content links
  • Request Timeout: Timeout in minutes for long-running platform requests
  • Allow Change (Azure OAuth only): Enable to allow users to define different SharePoint site at Burst delivery-level


OneDrive

Access

Review OneDrive Access for the prerequisite steps required in Azure AD to allow InfoBurst access.


Add a Platform

  • Select New Platform
  • Type: Select OneDrive
  • Name: Enter a descriptive name
  • Microsoft OAuth2 Authentication: Enter Azure AD App details described in OneDrive Access 
  • Select Save

SQL Server Reporting Services

Add a Platform

  • Select New Platform
  • Type: Select SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Name: Enter a descriptive name
  • Report Server Web Service URL: Enter URL
    • URL available in Reporting Services Configuration Manager under Web Service URL > Report Server Web Service URL
  • Request Timeout: Timeout in minutes for long-running platform requests
  • Select Save
  • Add Platform Credentials: Add SQL Server Reporting Services credentials for current InfoBurst user


Documents

The Documents tab of a Platform lists the number and name of documents associated with the Platform.


Access Rights

Platform access can be restricted by Group. A user must be assigned to a group and the group granted access to a Platform for the Platform to be accessible by the user.

  • Select the Platform
  • Select the Access Rights button
  • Set Right for one or more Groups
  • Select the OK button
