This forum describes the known issues and limitation of Tableau Server that may impact Tableau usage in InfoBurst.
Parameters
The Tableau API does not expose Workbook parameters which means they cannot be used in InfoBurst. To burst or refine the data in a published Workbook, use the Burst Filter option.
CSV Format
CSV produced by Tableau Server does not retain proper column order. Columns are published in alphabetical order. This is a known Tableau Server limitation. Details in the following forum:
The Excel Data (.xlsx) format is also affected by the column order issue. Tableau Server does not support Excel format via its SDK. To offer this Excel format, InfoBurst extracts CSV then converts to Excel.
The Excel CrossTab format does retain proper column order, but does not support filtering (see below).
Excel CrossTab Format
The Tableau Server SDK does not support filtering for Excel CrossTab. Therefore, InfoBurst does not offer Tableau Workbook filtering when the publication format is Excel CrossTab. Details in the following forum:
A Dashboard in Tableau is a collection of data from multiple Views. When InfoBurst requests a list of Views in a Tableau Workbook from Tableau, Tableau (via its SDK) reports Dashboards as Views. If an InfoBurst user then opts to publish a Dashboard as CSV or Excel, then the result is a file with incomplete data. This is a limitation of the Tableau Server SDK. Details in the following forum:
